The Astronomical Photography group of Sardinia is mainly specialized in the capture of astronomical phenomena and objects of the celestial vault, therefore it presents didactic material constantly updated based on the transits and oppositions of the period. Thanks to a wide range of instruments made available in public events, administrators have the possibility, in addition to explaining, to show directly everything that the sky presents at that moment, starting from remote galaxies that need visuals to medium field, passing through the large nebulae and open clusters of our Milky Way, visible with wide-field instruments, up to the planets of the solar system that require very high magnifications. Not only photography then, but also direct observation of the sky through telescope eyepieces. The wide range of photographic material collected over the years also allows the vision and dissemination of subjects transiting through other astronomical seasons. The administrators, collaborators of scientific magazines and national and international photographers, will accompany newbies, adults or children, towards a simple understanding of the night sky with practical explanations and live observations. Sardinia also still offers glimpses of rare beauty without light pollution, which makes it an excellent region to practice astro tourism: groups of tourists can be privately accompanied to the most remote destinations of the island with personalized explanations and guides. Pubblic entities, on the other hand, will have the possibility to contact G.Fas not only for evenings dedicated to astronomical disclosure and observation, but also for the promotion of daytime courses of practical astronomy for school children or photography courses for adults.

Passionate about astrophotography since 1994, he is specialized in high resolution shooting of all objects of the Solar System (Sun, Moon, Planets) of Artificial Satellites and Deep Sky objects through the use of his semi-professional instrumentation. Over the years he has collected various publications in national and international magazines, also obtaining important awards such as the NASA Apod (Astronomy Picture of the Day).

His passion for astrophotography has kidnapped him and since 2020 and then he has been working mainly with deep sky shots. He also begins to become familiar with high resolution by his huge passion for experiments at different focal lengths.
It actively publishes on the Flickr and Astrobin platforms and despite its recent debut it has already received multiple awards from various Italian websites.

Passionate about VideoMaking since 2019, he has dedicated himself to the discovery of Sardinia, slowly approaching long exposure photography. One night he discovered the Milky Way and from that moment on he organizes his life (with the family in tow) in cohesion with photography and night timelapses among the darkest and most hidden landscapes of the island; telescope, mount and reflex are standard equipment of his VW T van. always ready for a new adventure !!!!
